Brian Conley to Play Doctor Emmett Brown in Back to the Future The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre
Stage and screen star Brian Conley is set to step into the iconic role of Doctor Emmett Brown in Back to the Future The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre from Wednesday 13 August 2025 for a strictly limited 12-week run, until Monday 3 November 2025. The show, based on the beloved Back to the Future film trilogy, promises to be an electrifying experience for audiences.

A World of Back to the Future
Back to the Future The Musical features the same thrilling time-travel story that made the original movie a cultural phenomenon. Marty McFly, a rock ‘n’ roll teenager, is accidentally sent back to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean created by his friend, Dr Emmett Brown. To ensure his own existence, Marty must ensure his teenage parents fall in love.
The musical features a book by Bob Gale and new music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri (multi-Grammy Award-winner) and Glen Ballard (six-time Grammy Award-winner), alongside classic songs from the movie, including The Power of Love and Johnny B. Goode.
Global Productions and Record-Breaking Success
Back to the Future The Musical continues to captivate audiences around the world. After its successful opening in the West End, the musical premiered on Broadway in June 2023, with performances running until 5 January 2025. The North American tour kicked off in Cleveland, OH, in June 2024, and productions are also underway in Germany, Japan, and Australia.
The musical has broken box office records at the Adelphi Theatre and has won several prestigious awards, including the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The Original Cast Recording, released on Sony Music’s Masterworks Broadway label, has garnered over 20 million streams. In celebration of Back to the Future Day, the Deluxe Edition of the Original Cast Recording includes 13 never-before-heard demos and alternate versions of major numbers.
